Notice

In principle, scholarships are given to coursework students (except for work scholarships and donation scholarships).
Leave of Absence: Students cannot receive scholarship during leave of absence and will be disqualified (exceptions: GKS and etc.)

Students receiving the Tuition Fee Waiver Scholarship granted to student based on their admission grades or recipients of Korean Government Scholarship will be disqualified for poor academic performance and will not be renewed. (Based on the following governmental regulations).

Restrictions on duplicate benefits: students cannot receive both tuition fee waiver scholarship and research scholarship.

Purpose	Provide on-hand experience to academically significant sites
Participants	Professors in charge and all graduate students (Master’s and Doctoral degree students, research students, overseas credit exchange students, etc.)
Period	Once a year on the third week of April over 3 days, 2 nights

Purpose	Enhance the student’s international and comparative perspective through visiting significant oversea sites
Participants	Professors in charge, students enrolled in their 5th or 6th semester in the Doctoral program
Period	Once a year on around June to July after the end of the semester (15 weeks of courses)

Eligible Universities	Minzu University of China; Institute for International Research Students, Yanbian University, China; Faculty of Humanities, Charles University	All universities worldwide, including universities that have agreements with the GSKS ※ List of universities that have signed an overseas exchange agreement with this graduate school (click)
Eligibility	Common: Korean residents (excluding Oversea Korean)
Students who have completed one or more semesters in the Master’s and Doctorate program and are currently in their coursework period (Students in leave of absence are not eligible)	Students who have completed one or more semesters in the Master’s and Doctorate program and are either in their coursework period or registered as research students
Number of People Selected	2 students per year (One per each semester)
Selection Criteria	First round: Application materials (including cover letter, research proposal, language proficiency and etc.). Second round: Interview and language proficiency test.
Support Content	Research grants: 800,000 won per month, up to 6 months Travel expenses (Economy class airfare, up to 400,000 won)
Support Period	Support period: Select 1 out of 2 semesters per academic year Example: 1st semester of 2019 academic year (maximum 6 months from 01/03/2019 to 31/08/2019) 2nd semester of 2019 academic year (maximum 6 months from 01/09/2019 to 28/02/2019) Support period cannot be changed once approved

AKS Graduate Fellowship
Classification	Content
Purpose	To invite international students and overseas Korean students who are majoring in Korean Studies residing abroad to support education and research activities, thereby supporting continued interest in Korean Studies and expanding the base of Korean Studies
Eligibility	Students enrolled in overseas Master’s or Doctoral program, and have submitted a research proposal related to Korean Studies. (Doctoral degree holders are ineligible)
Support	① Research grants: 750,000 won per month ② Travel support: Amount equivalent to round-trip airfare (based on pre-defined standards) ③ Others: Use of research facilities such as libraries and Jangseogak Free use of guest houses in the Graduate School Korean language courses provided by the Korean Culture Hakdang(Institute) are free of charge
Support Period	6 months (from 1 September to 28 February of the following year)
Application Period	April
Recipients’ Obligations	① Designate a faculty member at the Graduate School as an advisor and conduct an independent one-on-one study with the advisor, or take one or more major courses related to the research topic. ② The study must be completed within the support period, and a “Research Result Report” and “Advisor’s Evaluation Report” must be submitted before departure. ③ Recipients must acknowledge the AKS graduate fellowship in published works. ④ Recipients must focus on research that can contribute to the development of Korean Studies. ⑤ During the support period, recipients may not engage in any other form of work. ⑥ Recipients may not be members of other educational institutions in Korea. ⑦ Other matters not specifically determined are subject to the regulations of the Graduate School and the results of deliberation by the Graduate School Committee
