| Dear Sir or Madam,
This is Shih from Taiwan. And I am living in Tokyo now. I am writing to ask about how to apply the master degree from overseas. First, I really appreciate that The Academy of Korean Studies give foreigners students the chances to do researches about Korea. I tried to fill out the form on http://gradaks.recruiter.co.kr/ But I have some questions about how to apply from overseas. 1. The address and telephone number I live in Japan now so I don't have local address and phone number. How should I write in the form. 2.tuition fee I don't have local bank account. Is it possible to do the remittance from overseas? Or is it okay that my local friend do the remittance for me? 3.Recommendation letter I have been studied korean languages in Japan for 2 years in 세종학당 in Tokyo. Is it possible to submit two recommendation letters? One wrote by the professor of my university. And one wrote by the teacher of 세종학당. 4.Sponsorship Can I be the sponsorship by myself? If it is possoble to do that, how should I fill out the sponsorship letter? I would be grateful if you could answer my questions. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours Sincerely. Shih |

Hi Shih,
Thank you for your inquiries.
1. Guidance for applicants living abroad on a phone number and address can be found at the attached "A Step-by-Step Guide to Online Application". Please see page 5 for the phone number, and pages 15~16 for the address.
2. Tuition fees are fully exempt for international students. If you are talking about the application fee, yes you can either transfer the money from abroad or ask your friend in Korea to pay on behalf of you.
3. Yes, if you think it'll be helpful for our selection process, you can submit additional recommendation letter in addition to the one written by your university professor.
4. Of course, you can support yourself financially. If you provide a bank statement under your name, you don't need to submit a letter of sponsorship, which is only required when the bank statement is issued under the name of a family member, not the applicant himself/herself.
I hope the above is of help. Should you have further queries, please feel free to ask us at admission_intl@aks.ac.kr.
